Hi to all the members of the ICE Society

and Welcome Onboard to The Instrumentation and Control Engineering Society

Let everybody know who you are so please tell us about you in this thread

I am Hemant Nandrajog, B.E. Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Govt. College of Engineering Pune (Batch 2003)

Right now I am working as Automotive Electronics Hardware Design Engineer in Hitachi Ltd., Automotive System Groups, Japan.

I&C Engineering basically focuses on the process instrumentation and control like for example a manufacturing plant, the process right from planning of instruments/equipments for plant to the installation/commissioning and then continuous operation of plant, all this subject fall under I&C Engineering curriculum.
People call us "Jack of all Trades and Master of one"

As per this website its basically meant for I&C Engineers but is open to all other engineering branches too.

Hi all
I am Prabhul Completed my B-Tech from College of Engineering, Trivandrum in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation. I have 2 Year Exp in this field. I was working in Keltron Controls and presently I am employed at FEDO as a contract Engineer. FEDO is a Consultant. They have got many process plant projects, It is Under Govt. of India Undertaking. regarding your query then in my opinion not everybody knows what exactly is Instrumentation and Control Engineering. People who are suggesting you that you should not pursue degree in Instrumentation might not be know abc of Instrumentation but they just know that doing engineering in E&TC or Computer Science will help you end up with some good money software job in some IT company
you have spent 3 years in I&C so you should have some Idea about it by know and rather than asking opinions on forums, this kind of topic should be discussed in person so I will suggest you to go to engineering college near you and talk to I&C students and professors there

Welcome on board Chhavi on behalf of ICE Society I welcome you. Its good branch but just don`t take it as others tell you to. Take only if you want to take it. Because i have seen people saying we didn`t get anything else so we took Instrumentation and Control. This branch is Jack of all and Master of none. The advantage is You get to learn Electronics, Process, Embedded and many more things and you have many option to choose from as your career. I personally loved being in this branch.
