Post subject: Oil crude + gas flow measurement

Dear Sirs,

I'm searching for the best technology solution for flow measurement of crude oil that contains gas mixed. I usually use positive displacement and turbine instruments when gas are involved is not so accuracy. Also the instrument can damage sometimes.

Thank you in advance for your help,

LACV

I have came across ultrasonic flowmeters. WHich are expnsive , however most accurate which has no moving parts in addition.

Hello Lacv2k,
The Ultrasonic meter will only tolerate up to a max of 5% entrained gas, after that it is a problem for Transit Time or TOF time of flight ultrasonic. It would be a big problem for a turbine meter. Normally you would have a gas or air eliminator before the meter to remove the entrained gas.
