Post subject: question about instrument piping

Hi everybody,

I am working in a project. In the technical request, I have foud:
"The materials for instrment piping installations connected to main service pipes for lubricating oil, fuel oil, cooling water, compressed air gas (excluding boiler gas), condensate, feedwater and steam shall be drawn seamless annealed austentic stainless steel. For ease in weldability the stainless steel shall be Grade 316.
Instrument pipe material for boiler air and flue gas measurement shall be galvanised mild steel (medium grade)."

I wonder why instrument pipe material for boiler air, flue gas is used by galvanised mild steel but not the stainless steel as for others above.
Could some body help me to explain and show me some relation standard to refer.
If I uses "stainless steel, Grade 316" for instrument piping of air and flue gas, it is beter or not?
Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
Thanks and best regards,
jianjian
