Dear Prabhakaran,
For application wise these two thermocouples are differing
Both are having nearly same temperature range.
But some of the specific applications where K type thermocouples can not be used, there only J type of thermocouples are used.
Generally, around the globe, K type thermocouple is globally accepted due to its wide range, accuracy, repeatability, ruggedness and stability with various kind of environment.
