Post subject: Project: "Robust control of process with time delay&qu

Hi,

I am working on a project (Pls see subject). The main idea of it is controlling a pipeline flow process with time delay. The source of the problem in this project is time delay. I am looking at the effects of time delay in this kind of process in terms of performance and stability. Also, apply few dead time (time delay) compensation tenchniques to this process in order to compensate for the time delay. At the end of the day, coming up with a robust control system controlling the pipeline flow process.

I have attached a simpe block diagram explaining the idea of the control system.

So far, I have discovered two dead time compensation techniques that I am going to work on. These are:

1. Smith Predictor.
2. Dahlin Controller.

I would apppreciate it if someone can provide me with some documents that may be of a help about process control, smith predictor, dahlin controller... etc
